Beloved Buttes Chaumont watering hole, Rosa Bonheur, is celebrating its birthday today, so head to the park this evening and liven up your Wednesday. It is August, after all.
90s Canadian post-rock group Godspeed You! Black Emperor is coming to Le Trianon on the 16th. The instrument-heavy, progressive musical style mixes with powerful imagery to create a concert experience unlike any other.
Rock en Seine, A ADAM
One of Paris’ most anticipated summer festivals, Rock en Seine, is back in action this month. From August 26 – 28, head out to the eastern suburb of Saint-Cloud, where big-name acts like Foals, Sigur Rós, and The Brian Jonestown Massacre will be performing over the course of the weekend.

Les Docks at the Cité de la Mode et du Design is no secret to the summer address circuit, but the weekend of August 27 – 28 is especially enticing. Enter Hypefest: a coming-together of fresh fashion, art, and music talent that has been deemed “[t]he first Parisian salon dedicated to avant-garde urban culture.” Tickets can be purchased here.
La Villette closes out the month with its annual jazz series, running from August 30 – September 11. Concerts will take place in the Grande Halle at La Villette, as well as a few other select locations around the city, and kick off with performances by Nas on the 30th and Ernest Ranglin & Friends on the 31st.
Black Movie Summer, La Grrrrrande Prairie de La Bellevilloise
The seventh annual Black Movie Summer will be calling La Grrrrande Prairie at La Bellevilloise home each Sunday until August 21. The afro-culture film festival will feature an eclectic mix of 20 short film screenings, as well as DIY workshops, lectures, and concerts.
Paris By Mouth has released their annual “What’s Open in August?” restaurant list, a big help to foodies in Paris this month.
